Four AA Batteries - Short circuit Danger
This video shows the dangerous effects of short-circuiting four high capacity 1.5v Alkaline batteries.

As well as a large amount of toxic smoke being produced the batteries and holder got hot enough to melt the plastic and could cause nasty burns.
