Dealing with a chemical spill - poster
Any spill of a hazardous chemical is an emergency and needs to be dealt with safely and efficiently. You can properly deal with a spill only if you have both the expertise and resources to do so, and you remain confident that you are not putting yourself or others at risk. With any spill there can be several complicating factors. Refer to the general strategy on Emergency Hazcards, and check first for special spill instructions and warnings on the Hazcard for the chemical(s) in question. Where there is doubt on how to proceed, call the CLEAPSS Helpline.

This poster provides a general procedure for dealing with substantial spills, and can be displayed in the prep room or kept with the spill kit for quick reference.
