PP099 – Testing for positive ions: non-transition metals
The positive ions aluminium (Al3+), potassium (K+), lead(II) (Pb2+) and ammonia (NH4+) can be tested for with simple test tube reactions. These tests are more specific than precipitation reactions with sodium hydroxide solution.
