PP067 - Distillation of copper(II) sulfate
With careful supervision, students can carry a simple distillation to separate a pure substance (water) from a solution (copper(II) sulfate). This can be achieved by using a side-arm boiling tube instead of the, quite complex, Quickfit apparatus, which could be challenging for students to set up, and expensive if broken. For the Quickfit Distillation Demonstration see document PP066.
