Determining freefall acceleration using Arduino
The value of acceleration due to gravity, 'g', can be found by dropping a steel ball bearing and measuring the time it takes to fall, however the the very small time measurements involved make the resulting value very unreliable. It is possible to use simple, homemade switches, along with an Arduino microcontroller to very quickly and accurately determine 'g' using the method outlined in this video.
