PP141 - The thiosulfate-acid reaction: rate and temperature
Various monitoring techniques can be used to investigate how different factors affect the rates of reactions. The thiosulfate-acid ‘disappearing cross’ activity is an example of a clock reaction with an initial rate monitoring method. This reduced-scale version is an effective method to find the relationship between temperature and rate of the reaction. The activation energy of the reaction can also be calculated.
