PP039 - Finding the % water in a hydrated salt
Small-scale method for determining the mass loss when heating a hydrated salt to constant mass (of anhydrous salt). The method, which uses a mini spirit burner and an alternative crucible, reduces the risk of further decomposition of the anhydrous salt. Reliable quantitative results are generated.
